Our client is seeking a Senior Catheter Engineer to play a key technical leadership role in the development and commercialization of innovative catheter-based medical devices.

This position is ideal for an engineer with deep expertise in catheter design, development, manufacturing transfer, and process development who enjoys taking products from concept through production.


The ideal candidate will have a proven track record serving as a Technical Lead on catheter programs, driving cross-functional project execution, solving complex engineering challenges, and working closely with manufacturing teams to successfully launch new products.

Location:  Fridley, MN
Salary:  100-135k

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead on catheter development projects from concept through commercialization.
  • Lead the design, development, testing, and optimization of catheter systems and components.
  • Drive rapid prototyping efforts to evaluate design concepts and accelerate product development.
  • Develop and execute engineering plans, test strategies, and design verification activities.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to support catheter transfer-to-manufacturing initiatives and product launches.
  • Lead process development activities, including assembly process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and scale-up.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges related to catheter design, manufacturability, performance, and reliability.
  • Support process validation, design transfer, and production readiness activities.
  • Provide technical mentorship and leadership across cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of catheter engineering experience within the medical device industry.
  • Experience serving as a Technical Lead on catheter development projects.
  • Strong background in catheter product development, design, and commercialization.
  • Experience leading catheter transfer-to-manufacturing projects.
  • Hands-on experience with catheter manufacturing processes and process development.
  • Rapid prototyping experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of catheter materials, constructions, assembly methods, and performance requirements.
  • Experience working in a regulated medical device environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project leadership skills.
Preferred Experience
  • End-to-end catheter development experience from concept through manufacturing transfer.
  • Experience improving and scaling manufacturing processes for catheter products.
  • Expertise troubleshooting complex catheter design or production challenges.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects and influence technical decisions across teams.
