Inside Research Worker

Our client is currently seeking an Inside Research Worker to join their team. As an Inside Research Worker, you will be part of the Assay Development and Characterization group supporting the Trait Transient Assay (TTA) team. The ideal candidate will be located in Iowa, have experience working with plants, and the ability to work efficiently in a controlled laboratory environment.

Job Title: Inside Research Worker

Location: Johnston, IA

Pay Range: $28/hour

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am -5pm (40 hrs/wk)

What's the Job?

• Support general laboratory operations tasks and assist with experimental execution at the direction of laboratory and/or project leads.
• Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment in accordance with laboratory standards, including routine cleaning procedures.
• Assist in plant assays, including sampling, bacterial culture maintenance, and plant care.
• Work in controlled environments (Growth Chambers) to perform plant care tasks and related assay support.
• Utilize lab instruments to analyze samples and record results accurately, following sterile technique and data reporting expectations.

What's Needed?

• Associates (2-yr) required; new graduates with experience in a laboratory setting are encouraged to apply.
• Commitment to excellent safety and risk management practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks.
• Experience or comfort with sterile technique, standard lab cleaning procedures, and basic laboratory workflows (including plasmid isolations and data analysis/reporting as assigned).
