Pay Rate: $17.20/hour
Employment Type: Contingent
Schedule: Monday–Friday 12pm–9pm

Why This Role Matters
As a Specimen Processing Technician (SPT I), you play a critical role in ensuring lab specimens are processed accurately and efficiently, directly impacting test results and patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Perform specimen processing tasks including presort, A-station, centrifugation, and aliquoting
  • Handle pickup, delivery, and preparation of specimens for laboratory testing
  • Accurately enter data (target of 6,000 keystrokes/hour)
  • Support imaging and microfilming processes
  • Follow strict compliance, safety, and biohazard protocols
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace while meeting productivity standards
  • Adapt to daily changes in testing requirements and workflow needs

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong data entry and computer skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment

  • Prior lab, medical, or production experience preferred but not required
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology or specimen handling is a plus
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to meet compliance requirements
