Phlebotomist III - Floater

Location: Alpena, MI

Pay Rate: $28/hr

Employment Type: Contingent with potential pathway for hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–6:00pm

As a Phlebotomist, you play a vital role in the patient experience and diagnostic process. Your expertise in specimen collection, patient interaction, and attention to detail helps ensure accurate laboratory testing while building trust and confidence with every patient encounter.

What You'll Do

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Accurately process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures
• Verify patient demographics and obtain required patient signatures to ensure specimen labeling accuracy
• Maintain required records, documentation, and confidentiality standards
• Provide exceptional customer service while creating a safe, professional, and welcoming environment
• Travel between multiple patient service centers and/or physician office locations as needed
• Support both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing activities
• Perform daily responsibilities accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines

What We're Looking For

• A current, up-to-date resume
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
• Previous experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Strong customer service and patient communication skills
• Keyboard and data entry proficiency
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call assignments as needed
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
• Ability to meet compliance requirements
