Waterfowl Recovery Technician (Ducker)

Our client, an industry leader in environmental and wildlife management, is seeking a dedicated Waterfowl Recovery Technician (Ducker) to join their team. As a Waterfowl Recovery Technician (Ducker), you will be an essential part of the conservation efforts supporting wildlife rehabilitation and habitat restoration initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate resilience, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Waterfowl Recovery Technician (Ducker)

Location: Green River, WY

Shift: 5 Days per week, 8.0 Hours per shift

What's the Job?

• Safely recover, rehabilitate, and release migratory waterfowl from the soda ash manufacturing tailings pond.
• Physically capture live waterfowl using boats, netting, and cages, often working on your feet for extended periods and walking long distances in various weather conditions.
• Handle and wash live waterfowl to prepare them for release, ensuring their well-being and safety.
• Maintain and operate water-related equipment such as trolling motors, nets, and other tools necessary for recovery activities.
• Keep detailed logbooks documenting species encountered, identification, gender, and causes of mortality, supporting ongoing research and conservation efforts.

What's Needed?

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining effective communication with team members.
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and adapt to changing weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of waterfowl species and wildlife handling techniques is preferred.
• Must be able to use and maintain water-related equipment safely and effectively.
• Credential requirements include certifications 100037 and 100006.
