Our client, a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing organization, is seeking a Controller to join their team. As a Controller, you will be part of the Finance organization supporting Accounting, Operations, Manufacturing, and Executive Leadership teams. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, exceptional analytical abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset that will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Controller
Location: Santa Ana, CA
Pay Range: $165,000 to $175,000
What's the Job?
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll accounting, inventory and cost accounting, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and tax compliance.
- Prepare and oversee accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements across multiple entities.
- Drive ERP implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting, operational efficiency, and data visibility.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, cash flow management, and strategic financial planning in partnership with executive leadership.
- Develop and mentor the accounting team while strengthening internal controls, managing audits, and collaborating cross-functionally with manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and IT teams.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience, including 3+ years in a Controller role.
- Experience within aerospace and defense, government contracting, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, audit management, multi-entity accounting, and cost accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
