Our client, a leading manufacturing organization specializing in powder metal components, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Lab Technician to join their team. As a Quality Lab Technician, you will be an integral part of the Quality Assurance Department supporting production and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Quality Lab Technician
Location: Columbus, IN
Pay Range: $20-$24 /hr
Shift: 2nd shift 3:00pm - 11:30pm
What's the Job?
- Perform laboratory testing on powder metal components using various lab equipment to support quality control and production processes.
- Prepare, mount, and evaluate samples; monitor test performance and document results accurately.
- Identify and report inconsistencies or deviations in test results, assisting with root cause analysis for failed or fractured materials.
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments to ensure precise and reliable testing.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to support testing initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
What's Needed?
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of quality lab or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical data accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite; experience with quality systems and data entry tools.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and indicators, and familiarity with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
