Logistics Specialist

Our client, a leading organization in the logistics and transportation industry, is seeking a dedicated Logistics Specialist to join their dynamic team. As a Logistics Specialist, you will be an essential part of the logistics support department, collaborating with various teams to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, proactive communication, and a commitment to excellence, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Logistics Specialist

Location: Bessemer, AL

Pay Range: Pay Rate Min: $20.50, Pay Rate Max: $21.75

Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5 AM to 2:30 PM

What's the Job?

• Maintain customer profile information and enter loads from customer tenders into the Freight Optimizer system
• Update account managers on problem loads and actions taken; inform receivers and customers on load status
• Monitor daily pick-ups and deliveries to ensure timely and condition-appropriate arrivals
• Coordinate with drivers through check calls, validating load data prior to marking loads as delivered
• Investigate product overages, shortages, damages, and complete necessary documentation

What's Needed?

• At least 1 year of logistics experience
• General knowledge of the transportation industry
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory)
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
