Our client is seeking a Cook to join their team. As a Cook, you will be part of the food service team supporting daily meal preparation and service. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to food safety, the ability to follow production guidelines, and a positive, team-focused attitude that helps keep service running smoothly.

Job Title: Cook

Location: Fayette, IA

Pay Range: $18.30

Shift: Hours per shift: 8; Shift start time: 5:30am

What's the Job?

• Prepare and cook menu items in a commercial kitchen environment using established recipes and production guidelines.
• Follow food safety regulations, including accurate food handling, sanitation, and proper storage practices.
• Support consistent meal production Monday to Friday from 5:30am to 1:30pm.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety procedures to help ensure safe food service.
• Communicate clearly with team members and report to the assigned supervisor at Upper Iowa University, 605 Washington Street, Fayette, IA.

What's Needed?

• Experience as a cook or in a related role, ideally in commercial kitchens.
• Validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations.
• Ability to acquire food safety certification.
• Basic math and counting skills to support portioning, inventory, and production needs.
• Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
