Prep Cook or Dishwasher all shifts

Our client, Education is hiring Prep Cooks or Dishwashers for all shifts, weekdays or weekend work.  As a  Prep Cook,, you will be part of the Food Services team supporting daily meal preparation and service. As a Dishwasher, you will be helping to wash dishes, sanitize all areas and mop, The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to food safety, the ability to work efficiently in a commercial kitchen, and clear interpersonal communication that helps the team stay aligned during busy service periods.

Job Title: Prep Cook or Dishwasher

Location: Fayette, IA

Pay Range: 

• Prep Cook: $18.30/hour
• Dishwasher: $17.60/hour

Shift: 1st or 2nd Shift | Weekdays or Weekends Available

What's the Job?

Prep Cook

• Prepare and cook menu items in a commercial kitchen using established recipes and production guidelines.
• Follow food safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage practices.
• Support meal production by maintaining organization, cleanliness, and efficient workflow during service.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Dishwasher

• Wash and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, dining areas, and food service stations.
• Mop floors and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures at all times.

Both Positions

• Maintain compliance with uniform and PPE requirements, including appropriate attire and non-slip shoes.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to support daily operations.

What's Needed?

• Experience as a cook or in a related role, including familiarity with commercial kitchen operations.
• Validated knowledge of basic food preparation principles, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations.
• Ability to acquire food safety certification as required.
• Basic math and counting skills to support portioning, inventory checks, and production needs.
• Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, to coordinate effectively with the team.
