What's the Job?

  • Operate and perform basic setups with minimal supervision to fabricate, cut, shape, drill, and form metal work pieces to meet specifications and support continuous production.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications/drawings, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, sequence of operations, and material requirements.
  • Support safety and 5S standards by following JSA procedures, using PPE correctly, maintaining a clean work area, and taking responsibility for your own safety and others.
  • Perform quality checks, including first article inspection, and detect/report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisors.
  • Collaborate across shifts and departments, communicate issues related to safety, quality, processes, equipment, or materials, and contribute to continuous improvement through production data and troubleshooting.

What's Needed?

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education plus 2 years of experience.
  • Ability to operate and set up metal fabricating machines (training and certification will be provided for a variety of machines, including Brake Press, Turret, Hairpin, Fin Press, Expander, and others).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform first article inspection for conformance to blueprint and work order requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to read, write, speak, and interpret English-language safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer tools (including Microsoft Office/Excel/Word and ERP systems) to look up blueprints, production orders, and key parts into inventory; plus the ability to perform operator preventative maintenance.

What's in it for me?

  • Opportunity to grow into independent machine operation by receiving training and certification to run multiple machine types.
  • A role where your safety habits, quality checks, and communication directly impact customer expectations and production success.
  • Hands-on work that builds real manufacturing skills—setup, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement using production data.
  • Clear expectations and teamwork across shifts and departments, with support from supervisors and coordinators.
  • The chance to contribute to a disciplined shop environment that values professionalism, cleanliness, and consistent results.
