Our client, a manufacturing organization is seeking a Laser Machine Operator to join their team. As a Laser Machine Operator, you will be part of the Production team supporting the metals or felt value stream. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to learn quickly and follow established procedures which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Laser Machine Operator
Location: Carson, CA
Pay Range: $23.00 - $25.00 P/H DOE
2nd Shift: 1:30pm - 10pm
What's the Job?
- Set up and operate production machine(s) safely and efficiently in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Clock to and perform transactions in Shop-Trak, providing updates on project status, material moves, and scrap for all operations.
- Load, unload, receive, and store raw materials and supplies to support production flow.
- Prepare machines to start a production cycle by performing calibration, cleaning, and other required tasks while meeting quality standards and safety procedures.
- Use computer-aided manufacturing programs to monitor, control, and adjust machine settings according to specifications; troubleshoot issues during shift and maintain operator logs.
What's Needed?
- High school diploma or GED (Required).
- Mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain machinery effectively.
- Basic arithmetic and computer skills, with comfort using hand tooling and basic measuring equipment (tolerances are key).
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions, learn quickly, meet deadlines, and maintain equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including wearing required PPE and working in dusty, hot, non-climate-controlled conditions; frequent standing/walking and occasional lifting of material.
