Our client, an advanced manufacturing and automation environment, is seeking a Electromechanical Technician to join their team. As a Electromechanical Technician, you will be part of the factory automation and equipment support group, supporting automation projects that keep specialized machinery running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to safety and teamwork—skills that will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Electromechanical Technician

Location: Oak Ridge, TN

Pay Range: 27-35/hour

Shift: Day Shift

What's the Job?

  • Assist in the integration, assembly, and installation of factory automation equipment and specialized machinery.
  • Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and written or verbal instructions to build and modify equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Read and make minor modifications to PLC programs, including Ladder Logic and State Logic systems, to support automation needs.
  • Support implementation and troubleshooting of automation systems, robotics, and machine control applications.
  • Apply machine safety standards and devices, including light curtains, safety mats, interlocks, and fixed guarding, while maintaining accurate project records and documentation.

What's Needed?

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant automation, manufacturing, maintenance, or technical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency with a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems and electro-mechanical equipment, including the ability to read and interpret PLC programs, I/O configurations, and control system documentation.
  • Successful completion of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certification, plus machining, welding, fabrication, and sheet metal experience preferred.
