Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturing organization, is seeking a dedicated Metrology Mechanical Inspector to join their team. As a Metrology Mechanical Inspector, you will be an integral part of the incoming quality department supporting the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to quality assurance, aligning successfully within a dynamic and innovative environment.
Job Title: Metrology Mechanical Inspector
Location: Hayward, CA
Pay Range: $30.00-$34.00/hr
Shift: 6am - 2:30pm OR 3:30pm - 12am
What's the Job?
- Perform incoming mechanical inspections on raw materials to ensure quality standards are met
- Utilize basic GD&T skills to read and interpret engineering part drawings accurately
- Collaborate with engineers to document and investigate any nonconformances or defects
- Champion product quality standards and communicate effectively with production line assembly operators
- Assist in root cause investigations by performing adhoc metrology requests and maintaining inventory accuracy
What's Needed?
- At least 3 years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 1 year reading GD&T and executing precise measurements accordingly
- Proficiency in using CMM/OMM, Keyence, hand inspection tools, gages, calipers, and scales
- Strong ability to identify and document defects, and communicate issues effectively with teams
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and basic data analysis, along with proficiency in generating summaries using Google Slides
