MIG Production Welder

Position Summary

We are actively hiring 6-8 MIG Production Welders to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will perform fabrication and production welding on metal equipment and structures in a fast-paced production environment. Successful candidates will have strong MIG welding skills, experience working with thin-gauge metals, and a commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.

Job Information

Available Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on metal components and equipment according to specifications and production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding specifications, work instructions, and production documents.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment and related machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Measure and inspect workpieces to ensure quality standards and dimensional accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Operate equipment and perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Support operations across multiple production areas as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 6 months of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or production environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience welding thin-gauge metal while maintaining high-quality weld standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding specifications, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency using basic measuring tools such as rulers and tape measures.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to work with fractions and decimals.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Additional Experience Considered

  • Freelance, self-employed, or independent welding experience is welcome and will be considered.
  • Candidates with hands-on MIG welding experience gained through contract work, personal fabrication projects, side businesses, or other non-traditional employment settings are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited welding trade school or vocational welding program.
  • Additional fabrication or manufacturing experience.

Welding Assessment

Candidates must successfully complete a hands-on weld test during the interview process to demonstrate:

  • MIG welding proficiency
  • Ability to work with thin-gauge materials
  • Quality and consistency of welds

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands to handle materials and equipment.
  • Frequently lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and move more than 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a production environment requiring close attention to detail and visual accuracy.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Loud work environment requiring hearing protection.
  • Compliance with all safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Training Provided

  • Basic Machine Operation Safety Training

Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The company provides required PPE. Employees are required to wear provided safety equipment at all times, including:

  • Safety glasses or face shields
  • Welding smock or apron
  • Hearing protection (ear plugs)
  • Work gloves
  • Steel-toe safety shoes
