Specimen Technician

As a Specimen Technician, you'll help ensure the accurate processing and handling of laboratory specimens that support critical diagnostic testing and contribute to quality healthcare outcomes.

Location: Denver, CO

Pay Rate: $19.68 - $22.64 per hour (based on experience)

Employment Type: Contingent with potential pathway for hire

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 PM - 4:30 AM, with a rotating Saturday once every 3 weeks

What You'll Do

• Receive, sort, and process laboratory specimens in a high-volume production environment
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate specimen records
• Prepare specimens through centrifugation, aliquoting, imaging, and other processing functions
• Ensure proper handling and routing of specimens to laboratory departments
• Follow established quality, safety, and compliance procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Communicate effectively with team members and laboratory staff
• Adapt to changing priorities and workload demands as needed

What We're Looking For

• A current, up-to-date resume
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong data entry skills with the ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour
• Basic computer proficiency
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a biohazard laboratory environment
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Previous laboratory, medical, hospital, or production environment experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
• Ability to meet compliance requirements
• Must be eligible and provide proof of eligibility to work in the US
