Our client, logistics and transportation operations is seeking a Yard Jockey to join their team. As a Yard Jockey, you will be part of the yard and dock operations team supporting efficient loading and unloading across designated locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety mindset, dependable communication skills, and the ability to follow procedures while keeping freight moving on schedule.

Location: Palmyra, PA

Pay Range: $21.25

Shift: Other (06:00:PM - 06:00:AM)

What's the Job?

  • Maintain safe and efficient dock operations by switching trailers and equipment to and from docks.
  • Load and unload trucks while verifying product count and checking product condition.
  • Sequence work to support efficient loading and unloading and help keep pickups and deliveries on track.
  • Secure loads properly and ensure loads comply with local state and federal guidelines.
  • Perform daily yard checks, refuel vehicles on site as needed, and document equipment locations and condition.

What's Needed?

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Considerable knowledge of tractor/truck mechanics and maintenance, including ability to inspect equipment (tires, lights, brakes, fuel oil, and water).
  • Ability to maintain a clean driving record and comply with OSHA regulations and company safety rules.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions, including maps and yard routing information.
  • Passing grade on required assessments including a written exam, physical exam, company yard test, and drug screen.
