Yard Goat Operator

Our client, a logistics and distribution operation, is seeking a Yard Goat Operator to join their team. As a Yard Goat Operator, you will be part of the yard operations team supporting daily container movement and safe, organized workflow. The ideal candidate will have strong safety awareness, reliable attention to detail, and the confidence to work independently while coordinating with dock and yard personnel.

Job Title: Yard Goat Operator

Location: Santa Fe Springs, CA

Pay Range: $23.50/hr.

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

What's the Job?

• Safely maneuver yard tractors (yard goats/yard mules) to move trailers within a warehouse or distribution center yard.
• Position 40ft and 53ft containers for loading and unloading to support efficient operations.
• Perform daily inspections of equipment and report any safety concerns.
• Coordinate with dock and yard personnel to keep the yard workflow moving smoothly.
• Log in drivers and accurately record container movements and working hours.

What's Needed?

• Proven experience operating yard goats or similar terminal tractor equipment.
• Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail for safe navigation in tight spaces.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with yard and dock personnel.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
