Energy/Utilities EHS Consultant – Contract (Orlando, FL)
Contract through end of year, with strong potential to extend
Manpower Engineering is seeking an experienced EHS Consultant to support a major client in the energy and electrical utilities sector. This role is based in Orlando, FL and will provide critical Environmental Health & Safety leadership across transmission, substation, and utility project environments.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in electrical utilities or energy sector, including high voltage transmission and substation environments.
  • Proven background supporting Project Managers and Site Managers throughout full project lifecycles.
  • Hands‑on expertise developing and implementing EHS plans, conducting risk assessments, performing daily safety audits, and enforcing OSHA, NFPA 70E, and client-specific safety standards.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations, developing emergency action plans, and managing compliance and prevention programs.
  • Familiarity with reviewing contractor SWMS/JHAs, managing permits and clearances, and coordinating outages.
  • CUSP or CSP certification is a plus.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, propose, and implement EHS processes, procedures, and methods.
  • Lead the rollout of EHS programs and projects; track milestones and ensure successful implementation.
  • Monitor compliance with EHS standards and prepare regular reporting for internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze changes in EHS laws, regulations, and industry requirements; recommend and implement updates to internal standards.
  • Support internal and external EHS audits in collaboration with the designated EHS Officer.
  • Prepare required EHS reports for regulatory agencies and internal leadership.
  • Serve as the operational point of contact for external authorities.
  • Train employees, supervisors, and management on EHS programs and best practices.
  • Stay current with applicable regional and local regulatory requirements.
