Our client, an industry leader in manufacturing and industrial operations, is seeking a Millwright to join their team. As a Millwright, you will be part of the Industrial department supporting operational excellence and equipment reliability. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Millwright
Location: Portland, OR
Pay Range: $45
Shift: Monday through Friday
What's the Job?
- Installing, aligning, and troubleshooting conveyors including belt, roller, chain, and screw types
- Working extensively with fabricated metal frames, weldments, and custom-built equipment
- Cutting, welding, and fitting components as part of installations, repairs, and field modifications
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, fabrication drawings, and mechanical layouts
- Diagnosing mechanical failures involving bearings, pulleys, shafts, drives, and gearboxes
What's Needed?
- Ideally 5–10+ years of experience as a millwright or senior industrial mechanical professional
- Background in fabrication shops, manufacturing plants, or conveyor-focused operations
- Ability to make on-the-fly mechanical and fabrication adjustments in the field
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting techniques
- Experience leading crews of up to 10 people in shop and field environments
