Our client, a leading logistics provider, is seeking a Dispatch/Data Entry to join their team. As Dispatcher/Data Entry Clerk you will be part of the shipping and receiving operations supporting efficient material handling. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a commitment to workplace safety, and the ability to work well in a team environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Dispatcher/Data Entry

Location: Mcallen, TX

Pay Range: $13–$14 per hour (depending on experience) Monday-Friday 10AM-7:00PM some Saturdays

What's the Job?

  • Load Planning & Routing: Assign shipments to drivers, optimize delivery paths to save time, and avoid delays like traffic or severe weather. 
    Driver Communication: Relay delivery instructions, assist with breakdowns or emergencies, and ensure drivers follow Department of Transportation (DOT) safety rules. 
  • Tracking & Monitoring: Use GPS and telematics software to follow freight from pickup to drop-off.
  • Customer Service: Update clients on shipment statuses and quickly address customer inquiries or complaints
  • Documentation: Prepare and verify important shipping documents like the Bill of Lading (a legal receipt for the goods) and Proof of Delivery.

What's Needed?
 

  • Multitasking: The ability to manage multiple trucks, schedules, and urgent requests at the same time.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making to find alternative routes or backup drivers when unexpected issues occur.
  • Technology: Proficiency in a Transportation Management System (TMS) and GPS tracking tools.
