Our client, in Farwell, MI is seeking a Shipping Associate to join their team. As a Shipping Associate, you will be part of the Operations/Logistics department supporting the shipping and receiving workflow. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to stay organized while working with shipping documentation and inventory records.

Job Title: Shipping Associate

Location: Farwell, MI

Pay Range: $16.50

Shift: 1st shift - 8 am to 4 pm
overtime is scheduled prior to start time and can include Saturdays

What's the Job?

  • Directly support shipping, receiving, and the accounting of all produced or ordered materials to and from the client site.
  • Verify and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments, including preparing items for shipment using work orders and schedules from the team leader.
  • Maintain the quality of materials handled and ensure correct quantity, description, and size of all produced goods or equipment before shipment.
  • Properly package items for safe and secure transportation, and complete Shipper/Packing list documentation with required details (quantity, description, size, job number, date, and other relevant information).
  • Receive, examine, accept or reject, sign for, and transport materials to proper storage; compare purchase orders with packing slips and ensure exact quantities and correctness of received materials.

What's Needed?

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • At least 1 year in an Industrial Shipping position preferred.
  • Ability to determine shipment methods and affix shipping labels accurately on packed cartons.
  • Comfort working with inventory control by entering incoming and outgoing information into MRP within a reasonable time.
