Our client, a leading organization in the automotive manufacturing sector, is seeking an Automotive Manufacturing Engineer to join their team. As an Automotive Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of the manufacturing support team supporting process improvement and equipment optimization. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a proactive mindset which will align successfully in the organization. This is an indefinite contract position - minimum 1 year.

Job Title: Automotive Manufacturing Engineer

Location:Grand Rapids, Michigan

Pay Range: $40-$48/hr DOE plus OT, benefits

What's the Job?

  • Support manufacturing production by leading troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
  • Assist in the design and layout of plant processes and equipment for efficiency.
  • Lead activities related to launching new business and process maturation.
  • Participate in process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA) and other quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean manufacturing principles and optimize workflows.

What's Needed?

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in automotive or related industries.
  • Proficiency with CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for plant layout and fixture design.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, general assembly, and production systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and strong problem-solving skills.
