Our client is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to join their team in Chester, VA. As a Building Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the E&M team supporting building operations at an active work site. The ideal candidate will bring a highly professional attitude, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently while still collaborating with the team.

Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician
Location: Chester, VA, 23836
Pay Range: $47-$49/hr.

What's the Job?

  • Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems, keeping facility and building systems aligned with applicable standards.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency requirements, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program and help ensure systems operate efficiently.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance implementation to help ensure equipment meets or exceeds rated life; complete emergency repairs as needed.
  • Review inspection results and building system performance (including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing) to confirm equipment operates within design capabilities and meets client environmental conditions.

What's Needed?

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-7 years of job-related experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to complete complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making based on analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
