Conventional Machinist

Our client, a leader in power generation, industrial, commercial, and specialized equipment repair, is seeking a Conventional Machinist to join their team. As a Conventional Machinist, you will be part of the manufacturing and repair department supporting skilled craftsmanship and precision work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range: 25-35

Shift: Days & Nights

What's the Job?

• Operate, set up, and maintain manual lathes, mills, and related shop equipment to produce and repair metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, tolerances, and materials.
• Measure and mark workpieces, select appropriate tooling, and perform roughing and finishing operations.
• Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other inspection tools to ensure quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust setups as needed, and contribute to continuous process improvements.

What's Needed?

• Strong conventional machining skills, including setup and operation of manual lathes, mills, and related equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions with precision.
• Proficiency with measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Understanding of machining principles, materials, cutting tools, speeds, and surface finishes.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work safely around industrial machinery.
