Mechanical Engineer (Valves & Fluid Actuation)

Our client, a leader in aerospace and highly engineered mechanical products, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Valves & Fluid Actuation) to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineer (Valves & Fluid Actuation), you will be part of the Power & Motion Engineering department supporting product development, testing, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical fundamentals, excellent problem-solving skills, and effective communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Valves & Fluid Actuation)

Location: Painesville, Ohio

Pay Range:$80,000 - $110,000

What's the Job?

• Design and develop custom mechanical components, assemblies, hydraulic valves, manifolds, and actuation systems for aerospace applications.
• Translate customer requirements, operating conditions, interface constraints, and performance targets into practical and manufacturable engineering solutions.
• Create detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
• Perform preliminary sizing and design calculations related to fluid flow, pressure, force, stress, and component durability.
• Support prototype fabrication, testing, qualification, and manufacturing support activities throughout the product lifecycle.

What's Needed?

• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including machine design, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable CAD software such as Creo or CATIA.
• Ability to perform mechanical, structural, and fluid analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS or similar tools.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
