📍 Role Overview
  • Title: Powertrain Test Engineer (Test Cell Support – Mechanical/Electrical)
  • Location: Auburn Hills, MI (100% onsite)
  • Schedule: 1st shift with flexible start (6:00–7:30 AM)
  • Type: Contract with strong conversion-to-perm opportunity

🛠️ What You’ll Do
  • Support engine and powertrain test cells in a fast-paced lab environment
  • Troubleshoot test setups, instrumentation, and hardware issues
  • Work hands-on with engines, sensors, and data acquisition systems
  • Collaborate closely with technicians and engineers on the test floor
  • Help ensure accurate testing, calibration, and data collection

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Automotive Engineering (or similar)
  • Strong hands-on/mechanical aptitude
  • Problem-solver mindset — someone who likes to fix, troubleshoot, and figure things out

🔥 Nice-to-Have (Great for Standing Out)
  • Engine experience (school projects, motorsports, personal builds, etc.)
  • Test lab or dyno / test cell exposure
  • Instrumentation experience:
    • Pressure, flow, thermocouples
  • Familiarity with:
    • PLCs
    • Data acquisition systems (DAQ)
    • INCA (ECU calibration & data acquisition tool)
  • Motorsports background or degree (Formula SAE, Baja, etc.)
  • Experience with hands-on design/build projects

  • Recent graduate (0–2 years experience)
  • Enjoys being on the floor — not just sitting behind a desk
  • Thrives in hands-on environments with real hardware
  • Strong communicator who can work with cross-functional teams

  • High visibility and collaboration with technicians & engineers
  • Fast-paced, highly interactive test environment
