Packaging Engineer

Our client, a leading consumer products manufacturing company, is seeking a Packaging Engineer to join their team. As a Packaging Engineer, you will be part of the Packaging Engineering Department supporting Product Development, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and cross-functional collaboration skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Packaging Engineer
Location: Stamford, CT (through Q1 2027), Trumbull, CT (Q2 2027 onward)
Pay Range: Based on Experience

What's the Job?

• Develop and design innovative packaging solutions to ensure safe, efficient, and attractive product transportation and storage.
• Evaluate packaging materials, transportation methods, and testing procedures to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Lead laboratory testing, plant trials, and qualification of new packaging materials and equipment.
• Provide technical support for packaging performance, continuous improvement initiatives, and supplier collaboration.
• Execute packaging projects on time and within budget while working closely with cross-functional teams.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5-10 years of packaging engineering experience in a manufacturing or consumer products environment.
• Experience with blow molding and injection molding processes preferred.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, packaging systems, and package testing methodologies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
