🚀 Job Overview

We are seeking a Prototype Build Engineer to support the development and execution of vehicle prototype builds that help bridge the gap between design and production. In this highly collaborative role, you will coordinate cross-functional teams to bring engineering concepts to life through physical mock-ups and validation activities. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy working at the intersection of engineering, design, and hands-on product development while contributing to real-world vehicle innovation.

🛠️ What's the Job?

• Coordinate prototype vehicle builds and engineering projects from initial scope through final delivery
• Partner with Shop Technicians, CAD Designers, Release Engineers, and Product Design teams throughout the build process
• Support physical mock-up activities used for design validation and development
• Assist with under-hood, underbody, wind-tunnel, and occupant packaging projects
• Facilitate validation of ergonomics, component placement, and serviceability requirements
• Track project progress and help ensure build milestones are achieved
• Support real-world evaluation and refinement of vehicle systems before production
• Collaborate across product development and engineering teams to resolve build-related challenges

✅ What's Needed?

• Associate Degree required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Medium-level engineering experience
• Experience supporting engineering projects, prototype builds, or product development activities
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technical teams
• Strong coordination, organization, and communication skills
• Experience in automotive engineering or related product development environments preferred
• Familiarity with CAD design processes and engineering release activities preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment
