Mechanical Systems Technician

Our client, a leading Life Sciences and Medical Diagnostics organization, is seeking a Mechanical Systems Technician to join their team. As a Mechanical Systems Technician, you will be part of the Mechanical Engineering Department supporting the Mechanical Engineering and R&D Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, analytical problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Systems Technician
Location: Pleasanton, CA
Pay Range: $40.00/hour
Shift: First Shift | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

What's the Job?

  • Support the design, fabrication, assembly, modification, and testing of complex electro-mechanical instruments and components.
  • Build and test R&D prototypes throughout the engineering development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, optical, fluidic, and system-level instrument issues and identify root causes.
  • Support transfer of development instruments into manufacturing, including troubleshooting guides and assembly procedures.
  • Assist with reliability, verification, validation, and laboratory testing activities.

What's Needed?

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in an engineering or technical environment.
  • Expertise in prototyping, machining, hand tools, precision measurement equipment, soldering, crimping, and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and multi-tasking skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
