Our client, a mission-critical facility operations organization, is seeking a Chief Engineer to join their team. As a Chief Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering department supporting daily operations and reliability across mechanical and electrical building systems. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, a safety-first mindset, and a drive for continuous improvement—aligning successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Chief Engineer 
Location: Hopkinsville, KY
Pay Range: $36-$42/hr.

What's the Job?

  • Provide operational management and daily leadership for the engineering team to safely and effectively operate machinery and building systems with a goal of 100% uptime.
  • Implement and manage a reliability-based maintenance function, including equipment inspection and monitoring programs, maintenance best practices, and continuous evaluation of maintenance/operations/reliability methods.
  • Oversee technical operations for HVAC and related systems, including refrigeration, water cooling, air conditioning, boilers, heating/hot water equipment, pumps, valves, piping, filters, and log review to ensure proper operation.
  • Leverage AI-powered predictive maintenance, IoT sensors, building automation systems (BAS), and energy management platforms to anticipate failures, optimize schedules, and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor and strategic partner to facility management and client leadership on engineering, infrastructure, and building systems matters.

What's Needed?

  • Associate Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of facility-related work experience, including customer service, leadership, and supervisory experience, with managerial experience required.
  • 3–5 years in a senior supervisory or leadership role managing engineering teams in commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facility environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes and strong technical expertise across HVAC and mechanical systems, with exposure to fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, welding, and electrical systems operation.
  • Proficiency with building automation systems (BAS), energy management systems, CMMS, and advanced monitoring technologies; familiarity with AI predictive maintenance and data analytics is preferred.
