Our client, an autonomous mobility organization, is seeking an ECAD Library & PLM Engineer to join their team. As an ECAD Library & PLM Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Operations team supporting ECAD/PLM data management and release readiness. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, and a drive to improve data quality and configuration integrity which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: ECAD Library & PLM Engineer
Location: Foster City, CA
Pay Range: $90-$95/hour + Benefits
What's the Job?
- Own the Altium component library end to end: schematic symbols, PCB footprints, models, and parametric metadata.
- Administer and evolve the Altium-to-3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) integration, ensuring electrical part masters, revisions, and BOM structures stay synchronized between ECAD and PLM.
- Manage the electrical part creation and release process: intake requests from design engineers, validate manufacturer data, assign internal part numbers, and drive parts through review to release.
- Configure and maintain 3DX (ENOVIA) workflows, change management, classification schemas, and attribute structures supporting electrical and electromechanical content.
- Partner with mechanical engineering on CATIA/3DX interoperability for PCB 3D models, connector geometry, harness routing data, and enclosure fit checks.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience in ECAD library management, PLM administration, or electrical design data management in a hardware product environment.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Altium Designer, including Altium 365, vaults, managed components, and library management workflows.
- Production experience administering a PLM system—Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE / ENOVIA strongly preferred—including workflows, change management, and configuration.
- Working knowledge of CATIA and MCAD-ECAD collaborative design data exchange (IDX/IDF, STEP), plus strong electronics component fundamentals (packages, datasheet interpretation, tolerance and derating parameters, and manufacturer part numbering).
What's in it for me?
- Work on mission-critical ECAD-to-PLM synchronization that directly impacts release accuracy and engineering execution.
- Build and maintain high-quality electrical part libraries and data structures that teams rely on every day.
- Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering to improve interoperability across ECAD and 3DX.
- Drive continuous improvements through duplicate detection, obsolescence/EOL flagging, and alternate/equivalent part management.
- Support NPI and release engineering by verifying manufacturing data packages, fabrication/assembly outputs, and BOM accuracy ahead of design releases.
