Instrument Technician 4

Our client, a leading automotive technology company, is seeking an Instrument Technician 4 / Electrical Validation Bench Technician to join their team. As an Instrument Technician, you will be part of the Electrical Validation Lab supporting engineering, validation, and vehicle development teams. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Instrument Technician 4 / Electrical Validation Bench Technician
Location: Warren, MI (Onsite)
Pay Range: $34.84 - $39.96/hour

What’s the Job?

• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical validation test benches, wiring harnesses, and subsystem test properties.
• Perform electrical root cause analysis and resolve hardware, ECU, instrumentation, and wiring issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Support hardware updates, software flashing, calibration activities, and test bench configurations.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to maximize bench uptime and support vehicle development testing.

What’s Needed?

• 3-5+ years of experience building wiring harnesses and performing panel assembly.
• Hands-on soldering experience, including board-level, connector, and harness soldering.
• Fabrication experience working with aluminum, metal structures, or building fixtures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Associate degree in a related field, equivalent military experience, or relevant hands-on technical experience.
