Laboratory Technician

Our client, a biotechnology and plant breeding research team is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be part of the Biotechnology team supporting plant tissue culture research activities. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to follow aseptic sterile techniques, and the drive to learn and execute research tasks with consistency and care.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm

What's the Job?

• Assist with creating, executing, and scoring results that support the research team’s needs, including processing samples under sterile lab conditions
• Measure, image, and analyze experimental results to support ongoing research and evaluation
• Coordinate sampling and prepare samples as needed to keep experiments on track
• Execute plant tissue culture work, including aspects of plant transformation, plant propagation, and analytical assays of plant tissue samples as needed
• Maintain a safe work environment by using aseptic, sterile techniques and documenting experimental details accurately

What's Needed?

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences, preferably with industry-related experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
• Plant transformation experience in a classroom or industry setting is highly desirable
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and support research execution
• Attention to detail and the ability to stay focused while performing repetitive tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work well with teams and independently
