Manpower Engineering is partnering with a world class leader in manufacturing for a Manufacturing Engineer (Entry to Mid Level).

Job Title:  Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Coon Rapids, MN  
Pay: $75,000 - $95,000
Duration: Contract to Hire OR Direct Hire


Job Function Summary:
 
 
To provide engineering support to manufacturing through assessment and resolution of manufacturing problems, the development and/or the improvement of manufacturing processes and the design of fixtures and tooling for use in the assembly process.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Design, qualify and implement fixtures and tooling to be used in manufacturing
 
  1. Develop and implement process improvements
 
  1. Performs mechanical maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery
 
  1. Support production through troubleshooting and continuous improvement projects
 
  1. Troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, equipment and processes when defects occur.
     
  2. Trains assemblers on proper usage of tooling and serve as a resource for information
 
  1. Works with assemblers as required to interpret prints and explain procedures
 
  1. Works directly with toolmakers and machinists to ensure mutual understanding of product and required standards
 
  1. Works with Quality Assurance and other departments to prioritize and resolve issues to keep manufacturing operating
 
  1. Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.


Education and Required Skills:
 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
 
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or Associate of Science degree (A.S.) in Manufacturing engineering technology with applicable experience or equivalent industry related degree
 
  • Familiarity with software such as Solid works, and Microsoft Office
 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with coworkers in a productive manner to work toward common manufacturing goals
 
  • Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System preferred but not required


REPORTING RELATIONS:

Provides training to assemblers as required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand for moderate periods of time in an office and factory setting. Regular use of hand tools, micrometers, and microscopes is required.
Occasionally lifting up to 75lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Candidates will be on site 100% of the time.
Occasional exposure to heat and fumes
