External Sourcing Manager

Our client, a leader in heavy industry, is seeking an External Sourcing Manager to join their procurement team and support global sourcing initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic, analytical, and collaboration skills.

Job Title: External Sourcing Manager

Location: York, PA

Pay Range: $43.27

Shift: 1st shift 8am- 5pm

Remote- 1 Day a week

Contract Ends: January 2027

What's the Job?

• Manage the daily procurement activities for raw materials, parts, equipment, and supplies required for production.
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies to achieve cost reductions and improve quality and delivery performance.
• Conduct market analysis, supplier evaluations, and benchmarking to identify sourcing opportunities.
• Lead supplier qualification processes and support suppliers until production readiness.
• Maintain supplier relationships through regular reviews, performance assessments, and collaborative improvement initiatives.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in procurement within heavy industry, rail, or similar sectors.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management, risk mitigation, and market analysis.
• Technical aptitude with the ability to read technical specifications, drawings, and schedules.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Navision/SAP) and reporting tools (PowerBI, Qlik Sense).
