Location: Wood Dale, IL

Pay Rate: $28.66 - $32.88/hour (depending on experience)

Employment Type: Contingent with potential pathway for hire

Schedule: 3rd Shift | 1:00 AM - 9:30 AM

As a Medical Laboratory Scientist, you'll play a critical role in delivering accurate and timely test results that support patient diagnoses and treatment decisions. Your expertise in laboratory testing, quality control, and regulatory compliance helps ensure the highest standards of patient care.

What You'll Do

• Perform specimen handling, processing, analysis, and result reporting according to established laboratory procedures
• Review, validate, and release patient test results accurately and efficiently
• Follow quality control, quality assurance, and safety protocols in compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory standards
• Troubleshoot testing issues, document corrective actions, and escalate concerns when necessary
• Maintain testing records, instrument calibrations, maintenance logs, and proficiency testing documentation
• Communicate STAT and critical results according to department procedures
• Participate in training, educational meetings, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• A current, up-to-date resume
• BS in Medical Technology preferred, or BS/BA in Biology or Chemistry, or Associate degree in Laboratory Science/Medical Technology
• Eligibility for or possession of MT/MLT certification through ASCP, AMT, or another recognized organization
• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience preferred, including high-complexity testing experience where applicable
• Knowledge of laboratory quality control (QC), quality assurance (QA), and laboratory operations
• Strong computer skills and ability to work across multiple systems
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong communication and customer service skills with a commitment to patient confidentiality
• Ability to meet compliance requirements
