Our client, a leading food production company, is seeking a Maintenance Technician and a Maintenance Lead to join their team!
Job Title: Maintenance Tech & Lead
Location: Manteno, IL
Pay Range:
Maintenance Tech - $24.50 - $34.75 (1st shift)
Maintenance Lead - $35 - $40 (1st shift)
What's the Job?
The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the continuous operation of our client's food manufacturing facility. They are responsible for performing preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to maximize plant uptime and overall equipment availability. The Maintenance Technician must have a strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, food-safe environment.
The Maintenance Lead will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and reliability of production equipment and facilities to ensure optimal operational efficiency and minimal downtime. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
What's Needed?
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and basic control systems.
- Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting bearings, belts, sheaves, sprockets, chains, and gear reducers and proper alignment of these drive devices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and attention to detail.
- Ability to work at heights
- Forklift and scissor lift operation would be a plus.
- Flexibility to work off-hours and respond to emergencies as needed.
