Maintenance Mechanic

Our client, a leading North American manufacturer of home and personal care products, is seeking Maintenance Mechanics to join their team. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be part of the maintenance organization supporting production operations. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to respond quickly to equipment needs—helping keep manufacturing running smoothly and reliably.

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Commack, NY

Pay Range: $23.04/hour

Shifts Available: 

• Friday - Sunday, 6am - 6pm 
• Friday - Sunday, 6pm - 6am 

What's the Job?

• Repair and maintain production equipment and facilities using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring/testing instruments while following diagrams, manuals, and manufacturer specifications.
• Proactively maintain machines to support productivity, waste reduction, quality targets, and safety goals.
• Respond to unscheduled downtime calls, diagnose defective equipment, and make required repairs to restore maximum availability.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required by instructions and ensure guarding, facilities, and equipment are in good working order.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and orderly work area while following all prescribed safety regulations, including LOTO procedures and OSHA compliance.

What's Needed?

• 2 years of relevant hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production or manufacturing equipment required. 
• Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, skilled trades, or a related field preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with sound understanding of electrical testing and repair equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of machines, spare parts, operations, and maintenance practices, with a commitment to SOP adherence.
• Ability to work effectively under general supervision, follow directions, and collaborate in a team environment; work schedule may include overtime, weekends, or off-shift hours as needed.
