Maintenance Technician

Our client, a local manufacturer, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be part of the team supporting production and facility operations. The ideal candidate will have strong safety awareness, hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, and a results-driven mindset that aligns with the site’s predictive and productive maintenance systems.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: TRAVERSE CITY, MI

Pay Range: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour based on experience, shift premium of $3/hr offered for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Shifts:
1st: 6:00am-2:00pm Monday - Friday
2nd: 2:00pm-10:00pm Monday - Friday
3rd: 10:00pm-6:00am Sunday - Thursday

What's the Job?

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and plant facility equipment.
• Complete emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and execute scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
• Use mechanical skills to troubleshoot and repair production machines, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders; diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, plus a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry tasks as needed.

What's Needed?

• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting required.
• Strong troubleshooting capability across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Comfort using hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
• Experience in hydraulic, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance including machine tool repair.
• Experience in reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and use of computer software such as Microsoft Office.
