Utility Operations Team Lead

Our client, a utility services organization, is seeking a Utility Operations Team Lead to join their team. As a Utility Operations Team Lead, you will be part of the Distribution Operations team supporting day-to-day water distribution system performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and coaching skills, a safety-first mindset, and a commitment to reliable, compliant water service which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Utility Operations Team Lead

Location: Morgantown, WV

Pay Range: Starting at $23 

Shift: Week day + on-call

What's the Job?

• Lead and support Distribution System Operators and Operators-in-Training by coordinating day-to-day work assignments and field activities.
• Coach, train, and support team members to ensure established procedures and best practices are followed.
• Provide hands-on backup coverage for operators as needed and collaborate with contractors, crew members, and utility personnel.
• Respond to emergency situations and participate in rotating weekend coverage to help maintain continuous service.
• Maintain and improve the water distribution system by handling customer service requests, work orders, meter-related tasks, leak detection and repair, and system maintenance activities.

What's Needed?

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience required (5+ years of utility or water distribution experience preferred).
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and be available for emergency call-outs and one weekend per month.
