Sanitation - APPCAST

Our client, a food production environment, is seeking a Sanitation worker to join their team. As a Sanitation worker, you will be part of the Production Operations department supporting production lines and workstations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, the ability to work with urgency in a fast-paced setting, and the focus to follow food safety and good manufacturing practices (GMP) every day.

Pay Range: $19.60

Shift: 1st Shift hours Mon-Fri

What's the Job?

• Review production areas for edible and inedible materials from production lines and remove inedible waste to maintain a clean, safe environment for production workers.
• Set up and maintain line readiness by placing floor trays, garbage/cardboard totes, mats, and waste barrels before production begins.
• Clean and sanitize assigned areas, including floors, underneath and surrounding line areas, packaging areas, and equipment-adjacent zones—keeping debris out of the way so machines can run freely.
• Handle waste sorting correctly by separating edible waste into designated red barrels and disposing of inedible waste into gray garbage receptacles, following established procedures.
• Complete daily waste reports on paper and electronically, and perform additional sanitation tasks as needed by the supervisor.

What's Needed?

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to work safely in a production environment, including standing regularly, using hands/fingers/arms to handle and reach, and climbing or balancing as required.
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds regularly, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally push or pull up to 200 pounds or less using barrels on wheels.
• Willingness to wear required PPE, follow plant food safety and personal safety rules, and work extended hours based on production needs (including after regular hours and weekends).
