Job Title: Custodian

Location: Vernon Hills IL

Pay Range:18.23

Shift:M-F- 7;00am-3:30pm

What's the Job?

• Cleans interior and exterior of all buildings, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, buffing, dusting, washing windows, louvers, light diffusers, and more.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of entrance areas, washrooms, administrative offices, staff/faculty lounges, lunchrooms, corridors, and waste receptacles.
• Assists in snow removal as needed, including front entrances and walks.
• Supports room and activity set-ups, including furniture moves and stage set-ups, as needed.
• Uses custodial equipment such as vacuum cleaners, basic hand tools, walk-behind hard floor scrubbers, walk-behind hard floor burnishers, and carpet water extraction machines.

What's Needed?

• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Ability to continuously walk or stand, with frequent bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting, and occasional sitting.
• Ability to push, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, and over 50 lbs. on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities, including sensitivity and ability to work with community college students, faculty, and staff with disabilities.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people contacted in the course of work.
