Buyer / Purchasing Specialist

Manpower is seeking an experienced Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to join a manufacturing team. This position is responsible for purchasing and coordinating raw materials, parts, and supplies while working closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure materials are available when needed.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and process purchase orders, change orders, and related purchasing documentation
• Review material requisitions and supplier quotations
• Evaluate pricing and authorize purchases within established guidelines
• Manage purchase orders from placement through delivery and receiving
• Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, delivery schedules, order status, and product issues
• Resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, requisitions, deliveries, invoices, and pricing
• Assist with resolving issues involving non-conforming materials or products
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing and order information
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Research cost-saving and purchasing opportunities
• Work with internal departments to help ensure materials and supplies are available as needed
• Follow established quality, safety, environmental, and purchasing procedures
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• 2 years of professional buying or purchasing experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment required
• Pump industry or machined parts purchasing experience strongly preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience using computerized purchasing or procurement systems
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
