Weekend Cook

Our client, serving Education & Hospitality is seeking a weekend cook to join their team. As a weekend cook, and starting at 2pm, you will be part of the Food Service team supporting daily meal preparation for campus dining. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for cooking, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to communicate clearly with teammates to keep service running smoothly.

Job Title: Weekend Cook 

Location: Fayette, IA

Pay Range: $18.30

Shift: 2pm, 8 hour shifts

What's the Job?

• Prepare and cook menu items using established recipes, production guidelines, and quality standards.
• Follow food safety regulations for accurate food handling, sanitation, and proper storage.
• Support weekend service by working efficiently during assigned hours (Sat/Sun).
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while using required uniforms and/or PPE.
• Communicate with kitchen team members to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth meal production.

What's Needed?

• Experience as a cook or in a related role.
• Validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation and various cooking methods.
• Ability to acquire food safety certification.
• Basic math and counting skills for portioning, tracking, and production needs.
• Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
