Our client, a leading organization in the lumber and manufacturing industry, is seeking a 2nd Shift Quality Control professional to join their dedicated team. As a 2nd Shift Quality Control, you will be an essential part of the quality assurance department supporting the production and shipping processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong teamwork skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: 2nd Shift Quality Control

Location: Athens, AL

Pay Range: $16.00 per hour

Shift: Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM until finish (typically 10-12 hour shifts)

What's the Job?

  • Inspect incoming and outgoing lumber products for quality, grade, size, and overall condition
  • Identify defects such as warping, cracks, rot, or improper cuts
  • Ensure products meet company standards and customer specifications
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality control records
  • Communicate quality issues to supervisors and production teams

What's Needed?

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in lumber, warehouse, manufacturing, or quality control is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
  • Basic math and measurement skills (ability to read a tape measure required)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment in varying weather conditions
