Our client, in Clare, MI is seeking a Machine Operator to join their team. As a Machine Operator, you will be part of the Machine Shop/Production area supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, the ability to read and follow blueprints, prior experience with machine operating and a focus on quality and tight tolerances which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Clare, MI

Pay Range: $17.35 to $26.05 an hour (depending on experience)

Assignment duration - Immediate start to Mid-December (expected)

Shift: 4 pm - 2 am

What's the Job?

  • Set up and operate saw, drill, iron worker, plasma table, or shear while following all safety guidelines.
  • Verify that materials are the proper type and dimension before cutting or drilling.
  • Use work orders and QC packets to complete work accurately and support the quality system.
  • Read, interpret, and utilize blueprints to produce parts that meet engineering and customer specifications.
  • Perform quality checks prior to sending parts to the next operation, using common measurement tools (tape measure, caliper, micrometer) and maintaining tight tolerances.

What's Needed?

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience operating industrial machinery and performing machine setup to meet production requirements.
  • Ability to read and use blueprints/schematics to guide machining and cutting operations.
  • Competence using measuring tools such as tape measure, caliper, and micrometer to verify dimensions.
  • Forklift operation experience and safe operation of forklifts, overhead cranes, and hoists.
