Job Title: Team Lead – Production 
Location: Charlotte, NC
Schedule: 5:30PM-6:30PM 2-2-3 Schedule
Pay Rate: $18.75-$19.25/hourly
 

Job Summary 
The Team Lead provides front-line leadership to support daily production operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for coordinating work activities, ensuring team members perform safely and efficiently, and maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, and company standards. The Hourly Team Lead plays a key role in employee training, communication, and maintaining smooth operation of equipment, materials, and processes throughout the shift. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and support a team of hourly employees to meet daily production, quality, and safety goals 

  • Monitor production line performance and adjust staffing or resources to maintain efficiency and minimize downtime 

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, SQF, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in assigned areas 

  • Communicate shift priorities, changes, and performance updates to team members and leadership 

  • Train, coach, and support employees on job tasks, safety procedures, and company policies 

  • Assist with troubleshooting and escalation of mechanical or process issues to maintenance or supervision 

  • Complete required production, safety, and quality documentation accurately and on time 

  • Promote 5S, housekeeping, and workplace organization standards 

  • Verify materials, ingredients, and packaging are properly staged, identified, and ready for each production run 

  • Support attendance tracking, timekeeping, and enforcement of plant policies 

  • Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives, meetings, and audits 

  • Ensure effective shift handoffs and clear communication of key production, safety, and quality information 

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and site objectives 

Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or GED required 

  • 1–3 years of warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution experience preferred 

  • Forklift or PIT experience required (certification preferred) 

  • Basic computer skills; WMS/ERP (SAP a plus) 

  • Knowledge of food safety and GMPs preferred 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs 

  • Stand/walk for extended periods 

  • Work in varying temperatures 

  • Availability for weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
