Our client is seeking a Forklift Operator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, a focus on accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Forklift Operator
Location: Portage, IN
Pay Range: $20.55
Shift: 2nd Shift (M-F 4p-12a)
What's the Job?
- Operate powered material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count product.
- Load, unload, move stock, and stage products and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment (80% of the specified shift).
- Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of product are loaded.
- Check all inbound and outbound products to ensure they are free of damage and infestation; record product code dates properly and confirm products match customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and reports for inventory accuracy, verify load accuracy and stability, and report variances as necessary.
What's Needed?
- Forklift operator certificate or successful completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment.
- Ability to spend 80% of time operating powered material handling equipment.
- Basic familiarity with warehousing processes and expectations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to read, understand, and follow directions and instructions.
- Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules while working the specified shift.
