Material Handler

Our client, a logistics and industrial operations team, is seeking a Material Handler to join their team. As a Material Handler, you will be part of the Spec Valve department supporting warehouse and shipping/receiving operations. The ideal candidate will have previous forklift skills, a safety-first mindset, and the drive to keep orders moving accurately—which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Material Handler

Location: Altavista, VA

Pay Range: $14.00/hr

Shift: 1st Shift (7a-3p) Monday through Saturday 

What's the Job?

• Accurately and efficiently pick, fill, and load customer orders to meet daily production needs.
• Unload and process inbound freight while following established warehouse procedures.
• Safely operate a forklift and electric pallet jack to move materials efficiently.
• Use computers and applicable warehouse systems effectively to support order accuracy and inventory flow.
• During material handling downtime, assist with part inspection duties as needed.

What's Needed?

• Shipping and receiving experience preferred.
• Material handling experience with the ability to lift and maneuver materials up to 35 pounds; heavier items handled with assistance.
• Forklift operation experience and a strong commitment to safe equipment use.
• Basic inspection capability and readiness to support inspection tasks during downtime.
• Strong mathematical skills to complete job duties accurately.
